If you've got a kid who draws in the margins of every notebook, this is the week.

IgNITE is their quarterly after-hours 18+ takeover, and the BLING theme means the runway show, the DJ sets, and the maker market are all leaning maximalist — sequins, chrome, rhinestones, the works. Tickets run $10–$25 and the galleries stay open, which is the underrated part: you can duck out of the dance floor and go stand alone in front of a Rothko with a drink in your hand. Get there closer to 7:30 than 9 if you actually want to see the fashion show — the atrium fills up fast and sightlines get rough by the second act.

A 21+ late-night DJ party built entirely around the era of Flavor of Love, The Bachelor season three, and Rock of Love bus tours. It's dumb in the best way — the kind of thing that only works if you commit to the bit and wear the velour tracksuit. $8–$15 gets you in; the arcade stays live, so you can lose at skee-ball between sets. Good for a group of four to six friends who already have a shared vocabulary of trash TV.

Free afternoon showcase where the Chrysler's summer interns walk through the projects they've been building all summer. If you're a high-school junior or college freshman thinking seriously about a museum career — curatorial, education, glass studio, anything — this is a legitimately useful 90 minutes. Ask questions afterward; the interns actually want to talk.

Free docent-led tour that uses the Chrysler's contemporary wing as a crash course in how to actually look at 20th- and 21st-century work. Perfect low-stakes Sunday afternoon — meet under the atrium chandelier a few minutes early. Genuinely one of the best free hours in Norfolk, and a sneaky-good first date if you both agreed to skip brunch.

The Moses Myers House is one of downtown Norfolk's quietest treasures — a Federal-era home tied to one of the earliest Jewish families in the city — and this behind-the-scenes tour goes deeper into the family stories than the standard walk-through. Free, hour-ish, and pairs cleanly with the 2 PM Art History tour at the Chrysler if you want to make a full downtown afternoon of it.
